Adult Financial Literacy Seminars

YES works to enrich the entire family. Parents often need assistance with learning to budget their income, so with this in mind the beginning of a new service has developed. The course is taught by a certified financial consultant. There are three sessions involved in this course to prepare the families to become more knowledgeable of how to control their budget and make life more pleasant. The first session is an hour and half presentation of the program with a half an hour summary portion. The participants will then go home and try to implement the course in their budgets. The manual they will be given can be followed throughout the presentation and can be taken home to assist them in constructing a new life style to redirect their lives for success.

The second session held six weeks after the initial session will last two hours and is designed as a follow-up to support and reinforce what they have been taught previously. At this session the participants can review with a staff member the progress that their household is making in developing better financial stability.

The third session held six weeks later, will be by appointment for each household to display the progress they have made up to this point. This will illustrate if they have any individual weaknesses in their budgets that are present. At this point, a discipline should be established where for six months the household records all money taken in and where every dollar is spent.
