English As A Second Language

The classes assist non-native speakers of English to develop basic interpersonal communication skills by fostering an environment in which effective language learning takes place. Listening, speaking, reading and writing are integrated in a communicative approach curriculum, providing students the opportunity to practice and improve their English language proficiency throughout the five levels. The ESL classes are limited to twelve students per class meeting two nights a week for two hours with three different sessions held each week.

The class is designed to give comprehensive up-to-date introduction to teaching ESL that gives both experienced and prospective students the theoretical background and practical applications they need to succeed.
