Recap: November Workshops

December 6, 2017

A big shout out to the Rutgers interns and the Rutgers Federal Credit Union for planning and holding some great workshops this month. Here are some highlights from the wonderful workshops that went on in the month of November:

Pam from the Rutgers Federal Credit Union stopped by to teach the kids about money...literally. The kids learned about the origins of currency and how money is made at the U.S. Mint. She also went through a book with the group about operating a lemonade stand, giving the kids got some hands on experience with what that might be like.

Before Thanksgiving break, the kids made turkeys and listed all the things they were thankful for.

Lastly, the kids learned about cyberbullying and safe online behavior. Each group made a poster and presented about the topic. Students also completed surveys about their own experiences with cyberbullying. The workshop concluded with the kids learning about how to be an upstander rather than a bystander.
