In the month of January, our Rutgers interns led two workshops about teamwork and communication. The main objective of the workshops was strengthening students' listening skills by working in teams to complete multiple challenges.
Challenges included a game of telephone and making buildings using dry spaghetti and marshmallows. The buildings were judged by their sturdiness, aesthetics, and the team's ability to work together and communicate.
Other challenges included an egg drop experiment and a word unscramble activity. Students worked together using limited resources to create safest capsule for their egg and the word unscramble tested the students' patience. Students received scrambled words to a sentence that they would have to create as a whole group and they had to use trust on their teammates when creating the words. The final sentence said, "When we work together, we can accomplish great things!"
