YES Fest at the Yard!

November 21, 2018

The Yard at Rutgers University teamed up with Youth Empowerment Services to host the event YES Fest, with hopes to raise money and awareness for Youth Empowerment Services. At this event, New Brunswick kids and Rutgers students were able to enjoy the beautiful Yard lawn for activities such as basketball, Kan Jam, Cornhole, Giant Connect4, Giant Jenga, bean bag toss, coloring, and a Bouncy Castle! Barry, the YES Director, came down to the event with YES volunteers to speak about YES's mission, describe volunteer activities, and collect information for future volunteers.

During the event, Rutgers students were encouraged to donate to YES. Furthermore, the many restaurants in the Yard complex agreed to donate 10% of their proceeds during this time to YES!

We want to give a very special thanks to our friends at The Yard at College Ave for helping create this amazing event! It was a great time for everyone! Also, we want to thank the entire YES Fest YES Team who helped make this event a success, which included Barry Smith, The Yard at College Ave, Youth Empowerment Club, MCC Democracy House, the hardworking YES Interns, volunteers from all our programs, and as always, the great kids of New Brunswick!
